NeoPaint for DOS was one of the first drawing programs, and NeoPaint for Windows carries on the tradition of being easy to learn and fun to use. The program has all the features you'd expect and supports most image formats. You can edit several images at the same time to create your own animated GIFs and cartoons. Drawing tools include brushes, airbrushes, gradient fills, various shape tools and a text editor with effects such as drop shadow and block shadow. The stamp tool is great fun for children; a wide variety of stamps is included, and you can create your own using the stamp editor. There is a wide variety of special effects, and if you don't like them, just use the Undo feature. The effects include traditional ones such as sharpen and blur; burlap and denim paper effects, and impressionist or pen and ink artistic effects. NeoPaint for Windows will load images from your scanner as well as from the Web. Unfortunately, the Help file is skimpy, but the program is intuitive so you won't have any problems with it even if you're totally new to paint programs.
